So here's a couple of pictures taken of N. Korean beaches.here and here.

Notice the barbed-wire fencing? The caption that originally went with these photos, indicated that these fences were electrified to discourage anyone from actually going on the beach and into the water and trying to escape.
Moral of this post is: Be Thankful and Appreciate where you live. It could be a lot worse.

Yes, those are electrified fences. You can see the insulated stand-offs the wires are run through.
