Memorial Day

"This Memorial Day, one might think particularly of those of our fallen who also guarded polling-places, opened schools and clinics, and excavated mass graves. They represent the highest form of the citizen, and every man and woman among them was a volunteer. This plain statement requires no further rhetoric." (Christopher Hitchens)

Memorial Day - nothing special at Google

Attention: In case you haven't noticed, Google has once again turned its back on recognizing Memorial Day in its logo, as it does with other holidays and people and things it wishes to observe. (logos)

In fact, it NEVER has recognized Memorial Day.

Any doubts now about the politics at Google?

The Regime Isn't So Bad or Chaos at Kos

I've been checking out the Liberal web site Daily Kos. (btw-is it pronounced kose or chaos? Seems I hear people say both. I'm hoping it's chaos, because that reflects what's going on over there. I won't get into the meaning of kos in Persian)
I've been drawn to some threads and discussions on Iran and when I'm not laughing, I'm in a state of disbelief that these people really believe this stuff they're writing.

All the World is a Conspiracy

Conspiracy theories seem to be the main glue holding things together at Kos. Well, that and Left-wing politics.
They’ve got a conspiracy theory for everything. In fact, someone was telling me about a statue or bust of President Bush that has become a topic of conversation among the Leftists , because it has a plaque with the date and year his presidency began, but the date of his presidency ending is left blank to be filled in later. Well, don’t you know what that means? At the Kos, it means that Bush is going to try to extend his presidency beyond his legal 8 years! I kid you not! The idea that it was left blank in case he should become incapacitated or heaven forbid, die, or resign or gets impeached (hey, that one ought to be in the front of their minds seeing as how some of their heroes are pushing for impeachment all the time) apparently went right over their heads.
Why go for the obvious when you can get a good conspiracy theory going?

Anyway, the main focus at the Kos regarding Iran, comes down to one main conspiracy theory: the White House wants to start a war in Iran and anything that is said or done with respect to Iran, is for that ultimate purpose. Never mind that the U.N. is involved, and we basically turned things over to the EU to try to work things out, they’re convinced that this President wants to invade Iran, and nothing is going to stop him. Well, not quite. The Leftists are going to try to stop him, by revealing Bush’s grand scheme of going to war in Iran to everyone else in the country.

Why does he want to start a war in Iran? I’m not sure, but I’ll hazard a guess they think it has something to do with the President’s plans to steal Iran’s oil and make all his oil buddy friends even richer than they are. They probably think he likes wars, too. Maybe you have some other ideas why they’re so convinced that Bush is salivating to go to war.

So, how is President Bush going to make the case to the American people for going to war? Drum roll please……………………………
He’s going to demonize the Iranian gov’t.
LOL!
That’s right. He’s doing it now. He’s out there talking about how bad the Iranian regime is. And not only is he doing it himself, (along with all of his Neocon agents), he’s getting the media to do it too! Yes, the media is helping President Bush to scare the American people. In fact, the media has been scaring the American people into supporting the war. I’ll bet you didn’t know that! Who woulda thunk the media was helping Bush?!
LOL!
That’s right. Those wonderful murdering mullahs known for hanging people from cranes, stoning women to death, whipping children tied to poles for having dared to attend a mixed boy/girl birthday party, and countless other depraved and satanic acts, need to be demonized by the White House. After all, the mullahs’ actions over the past 27 years aren’t demonic enough for the average person to have figured out that they are evil incarnate.

And what about Ahmadinejad? Isn’t the hate speech coming from his mouth bad enough? No. Apparently, there’s room for some to think that he might be an okay guy, so the White House has to demonize him also.

So, now you know. The secret is out.
Be prepared to hear lots of bad stuff about life in Iran because the White House and Bush’s minions are going to be out there telling you lies and exaggerating about the suffering endured by Iranians for the past 27 years, so that he can make a case for war.

After all, things really aren’t so bad in Iran.
According to the Left, life in Iran is better than here, because there’s a higher literacy rate, the health care is better and statistically there are fewer people in jail compared to the U.S.
[how the people on Kos know these things and have the numbers to back up these claims is a mystery. For one thing, the regime has never published or revealed the true number of prisoners in Iran]
And gas is cheap. Can’t forget that.

Oh, and if you happen to hear about the oppression and suffering of the Iranian people from an actual Iranian person on the TV, who is here in the U.S., or maybe even in Europe, that person is a White House shill. Yup. That’s the word from the Daily Kos.
Any Iranian dissident who appears on TV or radio or in the print media who is calling for regime change in Iran, is a White House ‘plant’ and probably his/her story and background information is fiction. Nevermind that its been documented by human rights groups. They can’t be trusted either. (yes, this is all being said at Kos)

BTW – Right-wing conservatives are referred to by the Left, as “wingnuts”. I find this term inoffensive and rather cute.
Actually, if you look at what a “wing nut” is and its purpose, its function is to fasten and hold objects together. Without it, the object would fall apart. That sounds like an accurate description of what the conservatives’ function is in this country. So I don’t mind the term “wingnut”, because without us to stabilize things and hold the country together, the screwy Left would cause the country to fall apart.

Everything I’ve written about the views and opinions of the Left, I got directly from comments on dailykos.com website. I refuse to link to them, but you can check it out yourself.
They’re absolutely bonkers and it does make for entertaining reading.
All I can say is, I’m glad I’m a “wing nut” and I hope there are enough “wingnuts” out there to hold things together and keep this country from falling apart. Right now, I have some doubts.

As for Iran, the White House needs to be putting all its efforts into supporting the Iranian people and helping them to bring down this regime. The demise of the regime is the key to fighting terrorism and having peace in the Middle East. Not to mention freeing the Iranian people from the tyranny they've lived under since 1979.

WHERE IS THE MEDIA COVERAGE?

Where the hell is the media on these demonstrations in Iran?!?
For the latest in excellent coverage please see Winston's blog. Also coverage at Aryamehr

Demonstrations need to be fueled by publicity.
I guess since these protesters are pro-democracy and pro-American, the Left-wing media doesn't want to give them the publicity they desperately need.
Also, heaven forbid something good should happen in Iran with Pres. Bush at the helm.
Can't Have That!

Overthrow This Regime!

This is a well done MUST SEE flash video of the 1999 Iranian student uprising.
I've seen it at least a dozen times over the past 2 yrs or so, and it brings tears to my eyes every time.

A picture saying a thousand words.......

I saw this photo on another dedicated blogger's site,Aryamehr

The fear and distress on the poor young lady's face and the body language and expressions on the faces of the 2 thugs, especially the one with the club, disturbed me very much.
No one should have to be subjected to such treatment, especially over clothing.
I hope there is a HELL for these kinds of goons and they are sent there soon.

No More Talking! Get Out!

David Frum wrote an article the other day called, "Give Ahmadinejad the Cold Shoulder", in which he discusses and gives 6 reasons for the U.S. to not bend to the wishes & calls for the U.S. to conduct direct negotiations with the Iranian regime:
1) "The United States will learn nothing from direct negotiations with Iran that it does not already know. "
2) " The Iranians do not negotiate in good faith."
3) " For the Iranians, the main purpose of negotiations is delay."
4) "The Iranians will score a propaganda victory."
5) "leaving negotiations to the EU enhances allied solidarity"

The final reason really sums things up:

6) "the reason we are hearing calls for the U.S. to talk to Iran is precisely that the talks between the EU-3 and Iran have failed. Iran has resumed its progress toward a nuclear bomb (assuming, that is, that it ever paused). The spotlight now needs to be placed clearly on Iran and the threat it presents to regional and world peace. Allowing the U.S. to be dragged into the spotlight too as a negotiating partner will change the subject--from Iranian aggression to America's alleged intransigence or dilatoriness or whatever it is that America's international critics will think up next to shift the blame away from the true villains of the story.

We have to acknowledge this much now: The present Iranian government wants a nuclear bomb. It will not be coaxed into changing its mind."

Exactly right, David Frum.
This "shift(ing) of the blame away from the true villains of the story" would feed right into the hands of the democrats and the U.N., not to mention the Iranian regime.
Does it really take an I.Q. higher than 80 to figure out that the regime is on a mission that requires nuclear weapons, and "will not be coaxed into changing its mind"?

Stop negotiating with these monsters and get rid of them. That includes the so-called "Reformers".
Out with them all!

What to do next with nuclear Mullahs - Excerpts

Excerpts from an interview/symposium with Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney, James Woolsey, and most notably, Kenneth R. Timmerman posted at FrontPage 5/19/06
Here

"we need to understand the history of the Islamic Revolution, and avoid several traps.

Trap number one: we must not fall for the allure of false democratic movements, such as the Mujehedin-e Khalq."

"Trap number two: we must not fall for so-called “reformists,” who tell the State Department (and others) that “moderates” exist within the clerical leadership who will walk away from the bearded boy president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Also - "I have always counselled my friends in the Balouchi, Kurdish, Azeri, and Turkomen communities not to opt for separatist agendas, and I would counsel the U.S. government to avoid this as well."

" I think President Bush should take the opportunity presented by the 18-pages of drivel from Ahmadinejad to send a reply – not to the bearded boy president, whom I leave to Tom McInerney and the U.S. Air Force – but to the people of Iran.

"The President should reaffirm his commitment to helping them to achieve their freedom, and then pledge material assistance."

"He should announce that he is appointing a high-level emissary to the Free People of Iran."
"...should then convene a loya jirga of Iranian opposition leaders who are committed to freedom, pluralism, secularism, and the rule of law."
"The President should also pledge that he will ask Congress to commit the necessary resources - $300 million minimum, $500 million would be better – to carry out the plan developed by the loya jirga. We need to get money and equipment into Iran to help the freedom fighters wage political warfare."

Thank you, Mr. Timmerman!

Follow-up : Hey! Read this, too!

Ex-Military Intelligence chief Ze'evi warns of impending world jihad 'tsunami'

By Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent
15/05/2006

Here

"Former Military Intelligence chief Aharon Ze'evi warned Monday morning of an impending world jihad "tsunami" that he said may soon descend on the entire Middle East.
Ze'evi, speaking at a Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies conference in Tel Aviv University, said that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinijad has been overheard promising the "end of history in two or three years."
Ze'evi recommended that the Iranian threats be taken seriously, saying that Tehran will soon have nuclear warhead compatible surface-to-surface missiles with a range of 5,000 kilometers, putting Europe within striking distance."

Now, let's review his quote from my May 15th post, "Hey! Read this..."

"we have not come [to power] for democracy. We are here to prepare the way for the emergence of the Hidden Imam... ".

Is a bell going off in your head? Well, it should be!
Anyone who thinks that they can negotiate with a gov't putting out this kind of religious "End Times"/Armageddon message, had better slap themselves really hard and wake up! You can't negotiate and reason with people like this. They aren't operating on the same plane or planet as the rest of us. They are driven by an illogical obsession and no amount of reasoning or logic is going to change their minds.

The only logical way out of this situation is to remove the current Iranian regime and allow the Iranian people to vote on a referendum for a new gov't and new representatives.

Reza Pahlavi is trying to unite various opposition groups in a coordinated effort to help bring down the regime. Washington needs to put money and resources behind this effort. The EU needs to put money and resources behind this effort.

Put this regime out of business and the nuclear weapons threat disappears.

America (Ray Bradbury)

[This poem was on the Opinion page of the Wall Street Journal this morning]

America

We are the dream that other people dream.
The land where other people land
When late at night
They think on flight
And, flying, here arrive.

Refuse to see
We be what all the world would like to be.
Because we hive within this scheme
The obvious dream is blind to us.
We do not mind the miracle we are,
So stop our mouths with curses.
While all the world rehearses
Coming here to stay.
We busily make plans to go away.

How dumb! newcomers cry, arrived from Chad
You're mad! Iraqis shout.
We'd sell our souls if we could be you.
How come you cannot see the way we see you?
You tread a freedom forest as you please.
But damn! you miss the forest for the trees.
Ten Thousand wanderers a week
Engulf your shore,
You wonder what their shouting's for,
And why so glad?

Run warm those souls: America is bad?
Sit down, stare in their faces, see!
You be the hoped-for thing a hopeless world would be.
In tides of immigrants that this year flow
You still remain the beckoning hearth they'd know.
In midnight beds with blueprint, plan and scheme
You are the dream that other people dream.

The End of Free Speech (if we allow it)

From Michael Rubin's, "I Was an Icelandic “War Criminal”

Here

" a growing phenomenon seeking to criminalize debate that is sweeping progressive, libertarian, and antiwar groups at home and abroad."

" ...it is not a far leap to fear that the calls for criminalization of debate which exist in progressive circles could become mainstream. Write an unpopular legal opinion regarding torture? War crime. Peacekeepers in Afghanistan transfer detainees to the host government? War crime. Advocate for a war against terrorism or emphasize democratization in foreign policy? War crime."

Excellent. Not only criminalize debate, Mr. Rubin, but shut it down. I believe, that should the likes of Hillary (and others) gain control of this government, you would see her (them) pass laws to shut down conservative radio talk shows, and any tv programs (FOX News), that try to confront or reveal or put forth an opposing view to the Liberal Left. There's a reason she has the nickname "Hitlery".

I watched some of the Minuteman rally in Washington the other day. Something Jim Gilchrist said, (founder of Minuteman Project) struck me. He pointed out, that the 'Minutemen' were trying to uphold our constitutional rights, and the people chanting and counter-demonstrating their rally, were trying to take them away.

That's exactly right!

The far Left doesn't like our Constitution. It allows for freedoms that they would amend or totally do away with. These people (and there's a growing crowd within our government) would make our country unrecognizable and in essence destroy it, if allowed to have control.

These aren't the same Liberal democrats of years past. And they aren't going to act like the democrats of the past once they're in control. They're angry and ruthless, and they'll stop at nothing to make as many changes in our government and Constitution as possible in order to suit their agenda.Much of the country hasn't caught on yet. They think it's business as usual in Washington. Far from it! Until they catch on, (and I believe they are slowly doing so) we need to protect our freedoms.

So, no matter how disappointed or angry our Republican representatives may make me (and believe me, they really tick me off sometimes. okay, they tick me off often), I will never allow my anger to cloud the 'Big Picture'. I hope others recognize the seriousness of this situation and take this to heart.
Write letters and emails, make phone calls, attend demonstrations, yell at the tv, but when it comes time to vote, NEVER cast a ballot that will go against our control of the government and thereby jeopardize our freedoms. (and that includes voting for a third party, which inevitably just gives a vote to the democrats because it's a loss of a vote for a Republican)

Hey! Read This......

Dear EU, UN, State Dept, World:

Please read this. Then read it again. Keep reading until it sinks in.

"we have not come [to power] for democracy. We are here to prepare the way for the emergence of the Hidden Imam... ".

That's a quote from Amadinejad.

Got it?

Now spend your time and efforts on helping the Iranian people bring down this regime, and no one will have to worry about nukes.
Problem solved.

Thank you.

No Point to Negotiations - Reza Pahlavi Video

This is about a 5 1/2 min video interview of Reza Pahlavi by Sky TV.
Some important points he made with regard to negotiations with the regime.
I hope the U.N., (that means YOU, Kofi), State Dept and all the politicians who are pushing for negotiations understand this :

1) There is NO point in wasting time on negotiations, since this regime is dishonest, untrustworthy and evil and has no intentions of stopping anything that they want to continue doing (like enrichment and having nuclear weapons)

2) They are incredibly arrogant, and demand to be the ones in control. They will NOT allow anyone else to tell them what they can, can't, or should do.
THEY will tell the rest of the world what IT should do, and THEY will use negotiations as a 'power trip' to show the world how THEY are in control. The regime will agree to negotiations or not, in order to display their ability to force the Great Satan (and the world) to bend to their will.

STOP WASTING TIME EVEN THINKING of NEGOTIATIONS and START HELPING THE IRANIAN PEOPLE GET RID of THIS DAMN REGIME.

Time for a Funny Quote

The Bluebird of Happiness long absent from his life, Ned is visited by the Chicken of Depression. (Gary Larson)

The Big Lie

Tactic popularized by the Clintons, adopted by the liberal democrats, and currently used by the MSM :

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” (Joseph Goebbels)

It's also the modus operandi of dictatorial totalitarian regimes like that of Khamenei in Iran and Kim Jung-Il in N. Korea and Castro in Cuba (among others).

Coincidence?

The Treasonous Media

The USA Today newspaper released a story about the NSA keeping track of where phone calls are being made to. They aren't listening to calls, just seeing where calls are going.

General Hayden (who headed the NSA) is coming up for confirmation to be head of the CIA.Is it a coincidence that USA Today comes up with this story at this time?
NO. Definitely NOT.
They have been working on this for a while, and sitting on the story until they thought it would be the most beneficial to their agenda to release it.

Pres. Bush came out and made a brief statement this morning to say what our gov't is doing and NOT doing to try to keep us safe.He was NOT happy by the end of his statement and again expressed his displeasure with people revealing methods that we are using to try to track down terrorists.

The majority of the media are anti-Bush, anti-WOT, anti-America b#stards.

How's that for a first post?
